Clean water is vital to basic survival and effective sanitation is essential to maintaining health and hygiene. Often neither is available to poor, marginalised, or displaced communities.
While working with development projects in India, I have been involved with many initiatives where water and sanitation were a very necessary component. In this section I would like to share my experience of the long-term impact of some of these interventions, as I have followed their progress in the Tibetan settlement of Doeguling in Karnataka, south India.
